Gems & Jewelry Trade Association of China (GAC) is a society group which approved by the state. It is bridge & belt for the government to contacts with gems & jewelry enterprises and professional workers. It is a sociality group legal person. The vice-chairman of the Chinese people's Congress Standing Committee -Wang Guangrong, the president of China Enterprise Administration-Yuan Baohua, the former Minister of Geology and Minerals-Sun Daguan, the former Minister of Light Industry-Xu Yunbei, the Secretary of Chinese People's Political Consultative-Zhu Xun, the former Minister of Judiciary -Zhouyu are holding the post of the honorary president of GAC, the deputy minister of the Geology and Minerals is assuming the office of the president of the GAC. GAC aims at uniting all the enterprises of the gems & jewelry and numerous professional researchers who are engaged in exploring, extracting, processing, selling. Make tremendous efforts and try our best to revitalize and develop the gems & jewelry trade of China.

The main tasks of GAC are: (1) Unite all the workers who are engaged in producing, education, scientific research, business & trade of gems &jewelry. Investigate and research for the situation of supply & demand, management system, resources, utilization, conserving, industrial structure, the policy of export & import, price and tax of the gems & jewelry at home and abroad. Offer suggestion for government 's decision-making and provide service for the gems &jewelry enterprises and numerous consumers.(2)Assist the transaction supervisory department and enterprise units of gems & jewelry in developing various kinds of horizontal relations, promote coordinated development of exploring, extracting, processing and trading, in order to improve the resource, economic and society effectiveness.(3)Develop the technology service of gems & jewelry on scientific research, authenticating, processing.(4)Organize the professional training on technology, economy, management of gems & jewelry trade, raise the quality of its work force. (5)collect, arrange and research the economic technology information on gems & jewelry trade at home and abroad, compile and publish some books ,magazines and newspaper on gems & jewelry trade trends and experience apropos, propagate the government's policy on gems & jewelry trade. (6)Carry out technical economy communication and the cooperation between china and  international gems & jewelry trade   .Various provinces, cities and autonomous region   gems & jewelry association are its association member, GAC Organized the Chinese gem, Chinese Gems & Jewelry Magazine and publish openly at home and abroad

GAC holds one or two nationwide sell exhibition and academic exchange. Various provinces, cities, the autonomous regions, jade associations and relative specialized committee organize various activities; these activities powerfully advanced the valuable jade enterprise prosperity and development. GAC has already become the most influential and authority's social group in China.
